Why Everyone Should Read The Clinton Papers - A Look at the Politics of the Presidency

Why Everyone Should Read The Clinton Papers - A Look at the Politics of the PresidencyThe Clinton Papers for Kalamazoo College, published by Princeton University Press, is the first historical exploration of presidential papers from both candidates and their running mates to see publication. In this historic book, John Koskinen, a former Secretary of State, reflects on his period as Secretary of the Treasury during the Clinton Administration, and the controversy that ensued.Throughout his time at the Department of the Treasury, Koskinen saw the Clinton Administration as plagued by negative public relations in all areas of government. To many, this made their work harder and more burdensome, than it needed to be. However, the Clinton Papers does not cover all aspects of the presidency.Although he was Secretary of the Treasury during the Clinton Administration, Koskinen did not enjoy the absolute power and respect that Hillary Clinton enjoyed. As a result, there were many areas of publ ic policy that Koskinen was charged with, but did not want to deal with because of possible political backlash.Instead, there were those that he could address through public statements without political repercussions. In this case, there were issues regarding Iran that he wished to have communicated more effectively to the American people.Koskinen acknowledges this and refers to it as a problem, but his question is 'What should the Clinton Administration do to avoid causing political problems for themselves?' This is one of the most interesting things about the Clinton Papers, and why so many students are eager to purchase the book. The Clinton Papers is a comprehensive look at both Presidents Clinton and Bush I. It covers their personal life and biography, as well as some of their positions and policies, and how they relate to current events and current policies. It also covers issues like the scandals and scandals, financial scandals, and the Iraq War.All in all, The Clinton Papers is an excellent read. And what's more, it's written by one of the most famous men to ever hold the office of President.
